RWIP – 160th Project

16/10/2019

BSG recently completed the Broagh Wastewater Treatment Works marking the 160th project undertaken by NI Water as part of their Rural Wastewater Investment Programme (RWIP).

RWIP was set up to tackle widespread refurbishment of some of the 900 minor wastewater works that span the length and breadth of Northern Ireland, in turn, bringing environmental benefits and catering for local development.

BSG have been heavily involved with RWIP since its inception in 2008. The programme has improved wastewater treatment for more than 20,000 people to date.

The current phase of RWIP is due to end in 2021 and will have seen an investment of £47m by NI Water.
